The UFO subject has forever been synonymous with conspiracy theories. UFO experts and enthusiasts alike have spent most of the last ninety plus years arguing about whose ideas and opinions are right when it comes to flying saucers. But with the UAP task force report coming soon, the idea that UFOs are real is now a very real fact.
You would probably assume that this would have brought happiness to the UFO community and that it would have everyone finally on the same page. But it seems we as a community have spent so long arguing over our beliefs, that unless the evidence explicitly proves your own theories right, most of us will ignore the evidence all together calling it fake or yet another conspiracy.
So what caused this? Why are we so stubborn? Why do we believe conspiracies in the first place?
I truly believe the blame lies with the governments of the world for hiding this information from us for so long. Without any of the facts and with the knowledge most government departments have been caught lying about similar subjects in the past, we have been led to years of pure speculation. The endless stream of tv shows, films and documentaries on the subject pushing different opinions have also split the community into hundreds of small cliques. Now it is almost like supporting a football club. You have your ‘club’ and automatically disagree with anyone whose ‘club’ (opinion) is different to yours.
So now we are faced with the possibility of finally getting what we have all been waiting nearly a century for. Full disclosure. All the evidence and facts that the US government have on UAPs. There are also signs that more countries will follow suit, with Japan also contacting the US government to work together on what they know about UFOs.
This seems to have yet again split the UFO community. Some are sceptical. Some are happily awaiting the report. Some are scared. This information may not fit into their narrative. They have spent most of their lives defending their beliefs, probably assuming disclosure would never happen. Now they are faced with either changing their opinion, or defending it in the face of ever growing evidence to the contrary.
So what SHOULD the UFO community be doing?
In my opinion, we should be doing nothing. At least until the report comes out. We have been asking for facts for decades now and we need to see what is revealed to us. Then we also need to make sure our opinions don’t ruin the truth when it is finally released. We need to stop all the in fighting and focus all of our effort and energy into holding these governments to account and making sure they keep the subject transparent and open to the public. If we had all been on the same page from the start, we could have gotten to this point years ago.
We also need to figure out what questions need to be asked next. Not just the obvious “who are they” but where are they from? Russia? China? North Korea? Are they from our galaxy? A different/parallel universe? If so how are they travelling here, or are they already here? What do they want/why are they here?
We need to be pushing for the answers to these questions instead of spending our time arguing within our communities. We may not like the answers. Some of the answers may be terrifying. Remember the Arthur C. Clarke quote: “two possibilities exist. Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.
As long as it’s FINALLY the truth, personally I am happy with any answers. Do I believe the governments who have lied to us since at least the 1940s, will finally tell us the truth? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
