Before 2017 you would be forgiven for not knowing the name Luis Elizondo. But since the leak of the first confirmed UAP video to the New York Times in 2017 and especially since the announcement of the UAP task force report to the US Congress, not a day goes by without another mention of his name.
Luis Elizondo is a former U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent and former employee of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. He also claims to have been the director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program or ‘AATIP’. (These claims are refuted by pentagon officials who have stated “Mr. Elizondo had no responsibilities with regard to the AATIP program while he worked in OUSDI [the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence]. Elizondo filed a complaint with the inspector general stating that efforts were being made to discredit him for speaking out on the subject)
In October 2017 Luis Elizondo resigned from this post in protest against what he called excessive secrecy and internal opposition. He then went on to join Tom DeLonge and others in the To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science.
Since then he has gone on to talk on almost every talk show, documentary, podcast and news channel, trying to show the American people, and the world, the truth that has been covered up and ignored by his own government. He has also helped release more videos of UAPs filmed by US Military personnel.
But there are those in the UFO community who will have you believe he is still on the payroll of the US government and is tasked with spreading misinformation and lies. They are unhappy with his unwillingness to break his NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and spill everything he knows about what is being hidden from us all.
So should we be trusting Mr Elizondo? Is he really trying to finally get to the truth we have all spent decades pushing and asking for? Or is he simply wasting our time, spreading misinformation for the US government?
In many interviews this question has been put to Luis. He has stated that all he has ever done is what is best for the American people and that he sees pushing for the truth in this subject as doing exactly that. He states that we have come a long way in 3-4 years since the release of the 1st video and that the rest of the process of working towards full disclosure is still going to be long and hard but that it needs to be done to get to the truth.
He also says he refuses to break his NDA as it would lead to him probably having to leave his home country to ensure his safety and the safety of his family, which is something he is not willing to do.
Personally, I believe we are only here because of Luis Elizondo. Without his work and helping to get these videos out to the press, we wouldn’t be on the precipice of the first real UAP/UFO report to Congress. We wouldn’t have had confirmation that UFOs exist from the pentagon. We probably wouldn’t have the inspector general investigating the pentagons handling of the whole UFO/UAP subject. Even if he is still being paid by the government, we still owe him this much.
As for the NDA and his unwillingness to break it, I applaud him. If he breaks it even once, he will lose all credibility and trust. If he’s willing to do that, what else is he willing to do?
Luis Elizondo has risked a lot for a subject he knows, compared to most in the community, nothing about. He hasn’t spent years watching documentaries and arguing with others over theories and conspiracies like most. He was a proud military man who fought for his country, who gave up that position because he didn’t like that his government seemed to either be hiding this information or just not acting on it. He doesn’t speculate or discuss his opinions, he talks in facts. This may frustrate many people, as we have all been waiting for disclosure for so long we want the answers now. We all need to slow down. Take a seat and get comfortable, we are in for a long ride.
But the answers are coming. They may just take longer to arrive than you’d like.
One day when all the truth is out, we will look back at this time right now and remember Elizondo as the person who made it possible. Yes, obviously, he hasn’t done this alone. There were many before him, pushing for disclosure for decades. We have all carried this torch a long way and Elizondo is tasked with carrying it for just the last part of the journey. Please, don’t shoot him now! We are nearly there!
Repeat after me.
I. Want. To. Believe.
