Since at least 1947, the general public have been fascinated by the idea we are being visited by alien civilisations. The alleged crash of a UFO in Roswell, New Mexico and the news stories that followed really sparked the imagination of the American people and of those around the world. The official story now of the Roswell crash was that it was a top-secret U.S. military balloon, developed to spy on the Soviet nuclear program that crashed on the Foster ranch. At the time it was claimed to just be a normal weather balloon, with the government and military obviously reluctant to tell the public about top secret technology being tested, although many would never accept this explanation. This story sparked over 800 ‘copycat’ sightings in the coming months and years, with people trying to get some of the fame and fortune that may have come from selling the story to the media.
So with regards to Roswell, the public were lied to. Either in regards to top secret technology or a crashed UFO. And we have all been lied to since.
The number of UFO sightings by the public seems to have gone up again recently, maybe due to the subject being covered more in the media and people wanting a piece of the action or because it has caused more people to look up from their phones and into the skies.
If you are one of those people who have seen something inexplicable in the sky, you may have searched for answers. If so, you may also have noticed you were given completely different answers by everyone you spoke to about what it could have been. You could have been ridiculed or mocked, the most common response for someone who stubbornly believes we are alone in the universe, but sometimes even used by people inside UFO groups and communities. There are those who will have told you this is all evidence we are being visited by alien species, either by interstellar or trans-dimensional travel. Then there are those who will have told you that all of the unexplainable sightings are actually top secret, black budget military craft (usually built by backwards engineering crashed ET craft) being tested.
Why so many different answers to the same question? One reason is a difference in interpretation of the ‘evidence’. Some people seem to be in such a rush to find proof of aliens that they will believe ANY evidence regardless of what it is, where as some could see footage of little green men landing outside 10 Downing street and slapping Boris Johnson in the face and would still call it fake or a good photoshop and would demand more evidence.
The other main reason you will get so many different opinions on a sighting from the UFO community comes back to Roswell and that lie. We know we were lied to, so what stops the governments and military from lying again? So because of this, any time something is denied by the governments around the world, people automatically call conspiracy. And with a lack of official answers the UFO community have been left to fill in the blanks with their own opinions, splitting the community into factions of beliefs.
These differences were only deepened recently with the release of the UAP task force report, with most information not released to the public we were yet again left guessing and assuming. There are also those who cause further division by using their platform on TV/the internet and pushing their ideas and opinions. Some cause division by merely speaking, with many unable to accept what they are saying. Where as others seem to do it purposely, with their many followers lapping up their every word. A good example of this would be Dr Steven Greer and Luiz Elizondo. Lue has publicly claimed that the US have evidence we are being visited by Extra Terrestrials and are keeping it covered up. Dr Greer has recently claimed that people like Elizondo are working for the Government to help spread misinformation. We covered this and Dr Greer’s new documentary here: https://uprisinggroup.co.uk/articles/the-cosmic-hoax/ .
We also seem to be split by anyone who claims to have had more than sighting of just a ‘light in the sky’. People involved in high profile cases such as Bob Lazar’s story of area 51 and hidden UFOs, Travis Walton and his abduction story, Larry Warren and his story of the Rendlesham Forest/RAF Woodbridge/Bentwaters incidents. They have all been called liars, usually by those who weren’t there at the time of the incidents and have been left fighting for their truth to be heard, splitting the ufology community in half decided by who believes who’s story.
So as a divided community, fighting amongst ourselves, we seem to have missed a lot of things we perhaps would have noticed or questioned if we were all on the same page. Such as why, after decades of lying and covering up with secret tech or UFOs and refusing to comment on either, did the US government decide to start telling the public about their UAP (unidentified aerial phenomenon) sightings? Why are they suddenly so quick to confirm any leaked footage or photos of UFOs? How many lies have been left unanswered and unchallenged?
With so much misinformation and so much arguing and trying disprove each other, we have been unable to truly hold these governments to account for the lies they have to us for so long. Whether it be top secret craft, or UFOs in our skies, surely we as a species deserve the answers?
Again, we as a community appear to be on the precipice of something huge. Will we know more of the truth and have answers to our questions this time? We will have to wait and see. Will the ufology community finally come together with a common interest and opinion, stop fighting and push for the truth? I highly doubt it.
